App Privacy Policy

This privacy policy covers the Billie Jeans mobile app, published by Billie Jeans (billiejeansclo.com). It explains what the app collects, why, where it goes and what your rights are. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run your account, your saved items and your notifications. We do not run ads, we do not sell data and the app currently contains no analytics or advertising trackers.
What we collect and why
- Your email address. Used to create and sign in to your app account with a one-time code. There are no passwords. Legal basis: performance of a contract (providing your account).
- Saved items and preferences. Products you save with the heart, sizes you ask to be notified about, and your notification settings. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- Push notification token. If you enable notifications, your device gives the app a push token so we can send you drop and restock alerts. We ask for this only when you first use a feature that needs it, never at install. Legal basis: consent; you can turn it off at any time in the You tab or in your device settings.
- Support chat messages. What you type to the in-app assistant, so it can answer you. Please do not share card numbers or passwords in chat; the assistant will never ask for them.
- Order lookup details. If you track an order in chat, the order number, email and optional phone number you enter are used once to look up that order's shipping status.
Who processes it
- Supabase (hosted on AWS in the EU, region Ireland/eu-west-1): account, saved items, preferences and push tokens.
- Shopify: the catalog, your cart, checkout, payment and orders. Payment happens entirely in Shopify's checkout; we never see or store your card details. Shopify's own privacy policy applies to checkout and orders.
- Resend: delivers sign-in code emails (EU region).
- Expo: delivers push notifications to your device.
- OpenAI: the support chat assistant is powered by an OpenAI model, reached through our own server. Your chat messages are processed by OpenAI to generate answers. Chat works without an account and messages are not linked to your app account.
- Spotify: playlist artwork in the Sound of Billie tab is loaded from Spotify's public oEmbed service. This involves no login and no tracking; opening a playlist simply takes you to Spotify.
The app contains no advertising trackers and no analytics SDKs. If we ever add product analytics, we will update this policy first.
How long we keep it
- Account, saved items, preferences and push tokens: until you delete your account.
- Restock requests: until the size is back and you have been notified, or until you delete your account.
- Orders: kept by Shopify under the store's retention rules and legal bookkeeping obligations.
Your rights
You can delete your account and everything tied to it directly in the app: You tab, Delete account. That removes your account, saved items, preferences, restock requests and push tokens immediately and permanently.
Under the GDPR you also have the right to access, correct, export and object. Email support@billiejeansclo.com and we will help. You can also complain to the Dutch data protection authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Children
The app is not directed at children under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update this page and the date above. For meaningful changes we will let you know in the app.
